I picked up my first camera at age 12 and never put it down. My years as a working actor taught me that the most compelling performances are always the most truthful ones. Today I use that insight to help actors, families, and professionals find their own truth in front of my lens. Why did David go from acting to photography?
David's passion for photography began during his own years as a working actor in Los Angeles. Frustrated by the struggle to find a headshot that accurately represented his "brand," he began shooting friends and the business quickly took off from there. His understanding of what casting directors need—combined with his experience on sets—naturally evolved into a career helping others navigate the industry.
How long has David been shooting headshots in LA?
David has been a professional LA headshot photographer for over 23 years. In that time, he has worked with thousands of actors from new actors in the business to established celebrities, helping them adapt to the ever-changing standards of the Hollywood market.
What is David's philosophy on a great headshot?
David believes that 'life is art and art is life.' His goal is to capture the reality of the moment. He maintains that a headshot's primary job is to look exactly like the client so when they walk into an audition, there are no surprises. His philosophy is simple: "Always make the client happy, no matter what."
